We have some new arrivals staying with us for a few months: A female dog with no name, and her four 1-week old pups.
These five little souls were surrendered to the Armidale RSPCA Branch after the owner finally realised she couldn't take proper care of them. The mother dog arrived at the vet malnourished, starved, and very sick. She had mastitis which means she was unable to feed her babies. She's in much better health now, and very happy to be out of the vet's cage and in our yard. This is the mother dog below:
The pups are one week old today. Their eyes are still closed, and they make noises like guinea pigs. They are truly adorable.
Unfortunately, four little pups just like these ones were put down last week due to lack of carers available. Spread the word; DEXEX YOUR ANIMALS!
